Outline in gimp

Thanks Katie for requesting! 1) Open up Gimp and get a new Image started. Go and find your picture that you want to outline and copy it and paste it into gimp. I usually get my images from my shop. I'll be using this

2)first we have to make it Trannsparent. So open the layers (Dialogs-Layers) and make sure you anchor the image

Create a duplicate

and delete the background
*Not the Background copy!*
Get the Fuzzy Select Tool.

and then select the white then press ctrl and x. this will make the bground transparent (it should look like dark and light squares or this:)

3)Go to layers again. click on your image and right click Alpha to selction.

So the outside should be in a line

4)Create a nre layer and move it below the background copy.(remember don't click on the image or it will not work)Then create another one, and move that below the background copy.

5)Select the middle one on your layers. Then Click on select-Grow and grow the section by 1. Get the bucket fill tool and make sure you have it on white. Fill the background in.

6)Go to the lowest layer. (you will know if you did this part wrong if the whole image comes out black or the color that you have choose) and go back to Select and grow. Grow it by 1 again and get the bucket tool out. FIll that one with black (or any color you want)

7)Just right click in the layers (must have a layer selected) and say merge. Crop it and put credit on! and you're Finished
