Iframes:

So you want to learn how to do iframes, Okay. You will /Need/ to know a little HTML before You take on this task. xD Its not that hard, just very confusing.

Iframes, or inline frames, are just frames that your visitor can not move. Frames your visitor can move and shape as they please. In line frames, you the creator can set the height and width of it. It works better then having to go through every page to add one thing.

But enough of the background and information on them, lets get started.

First you will need to Name your frame. For the sake of the tutorial, I'm going to name mine Practice. You will need to remember this for every link on your page.

Second you will need to know what is going to show up in your frame first. Like when you visit Dream-graphics first you see our news, right? So, once again for the sake of this tutorial I'm going to have the first frame go to our news page.

Third you will need the width and height of the place you want the frame. A good rule to go by is make your frame big. Not so big that it makes the page scroll sideways, but not so small that your visitors can't see what you are saying or what you are offering. Most sites make their frame long.

You can add a border or not, this is your choice. Most don't as most sites either have a border in their background or have a set area for the frame.

Fifth: Transparency? Do you want your frame to be transparent? Some do, some don't. Some pages have white backgrounds that can get away with no transparent background, but there are some who have a cool background that you can see the text over. It really doesn't matter, if you like it then go with it.

Alright, so now you have all that decided....you need to know the code right?
well, here you go. I'm going to make it simple for you:

<iframe name="Practice" Src="http://kistdancer.awardspace.com/" width="100" height="100" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>
Alright, you've added everything of yours, correct? Good, Now for your links.

You want your pages to link to the frame so you don't have to edit all the pages for one thing right? Alright, add your link <a href="your link" target="IFRAME NAME">. If you want to have a link that isn't targeted to the frame, what you will need to do is in the target area you will need to add _blank . Simple, no?

Alright, there you have it. Iframes.

To position an iframe to where you would like it add a div style code before it.

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail Bri at dream.graphics@yahoo.com or neomail her at kistdancer. [she does prefer e-mail]
